One simple decision today can reverberate forever. Our life support systems need us - and now.

Our power lies in small daily decisions - habits that create demand for what makes our lives better, or worse. Multiply one change across many days and many people, and we move the world.
Laurel and I created this website to share easy decisions we’ve made that brought us and others good health and a better planet.
The same is true for trees, salamanders, fireflies - all living things bask in the soup, so also with each other. What we call ecosystems are truly expanded, interconnected biomes.
All biomes, inside us and out, are connected and dependent on tiny creatures - and key to solving the climate and species crisis. With just tiny decisions, multiplied by millions of us.

ABOUT US: (On a sidebar)
Laurel rescues old dogs - and as a RN, helps people by speaking the truth, based on years of vast experience and arduous research - that you won't see on your nightly news.
I rescue forests - and study life in the field - from acres of woodlands, wetlands and prairies - and birds, frogs, and bugs - to uber-tiny soil critters and “strings” of fungus that are foundational for our survival.
After almost drowning in the ocean at age four, Dad set me on a towel, for a rare time alone. I noticed pieces of "something" moving in the air. A large warm force was touching my back from outer space. The saltwater that had filled my sinuses tasted ancient and alive. What was all around me was alive and constantly moving. I had stumbled upon the soup.
Laurel and I met in the early '80s, both in our late 20s. We bonded as activists.
I think of Laurel as a peaceful warrior. For decades, she’s led a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the perils of genetically modifying random pieces of our life support web. We used to sit in theaters, in horror of Frankenstein. Now we eat Franken-foods and inject Franken-drugs. Laurel is a force of nature.
We are all forces of nature - from the moment primitive creatures crawled out of the male you call “Dad” and joined with the living egg in the host you call “Mom” - and you as a microbe became a semi-viable life form. Your microbial “first breath.”
All living things evolved from microbes or other tiny organisms that defy classification --> so it makes sense that we are closely connected and dependent on these.
And we are dependent on one another. All this makes us family, and we are all in the soup together. What we do to the soup decides if our human family survives. All we have to do is alter small daily habits. Collectively.
This site shares the path Laurel and I have been taking. It’s been a long, strange trip. And we’d love to hear your trip - to share for anyone who happens by.
Hoping for a culture and mindset that continues to awaken more - and turn the Titanic around. With truth. Real truth, brothers and sisters. Let’s do this.
